We are a small hobby kennel that started in 1971
It all started when we were on holiday at Blackpool and
we saw a chow puppy in a pet shop window.
We fell in love with the breed .
That same evening I was sent to purchase an evening paper, by chance I
purchased the wrong paper, but there in the adverts were chow puppies
for sale, and although we did not know it at the time they were at the
famous Minhow Kennels.
We made an appointment and went over and
purchased our first chow puppy.
Little did we know how he was to change our lives.
All my life I have been dog mad but showing dogs was something we
knew nothing about and really had no interest in.
but eventually we were persuaded to show him at a local show where we
won .
We were then persuaded to enter other shows with some success ,
we also enjoyed the days out meeting people who enjoyed talking about
our favourite subject dogs.
So we went to a grooming demonstration at a chow rally where we met
other chowists. There we joined the Northern Counties Chow Club and
the rest as they say is history.
We went from the small shows to the Championship shows .
We increased with chows and eventually bred our first litter
As we love all dogs, over the years we have diversed into other breeds as
well as our chows, .In the past we have limitedly shown a St Bernard we
owned and when she passed away at nearly nine years old a Boxer who
also passed away at nine years old Showing dogs has been our hobby and
our way of life for over 38 years
We have shown and bred Am Cockers and Bulldogs.
And when my sons German Shepherd had puppies and came to stay with
us for the event
we couldn,t resist but keep two.
showing is still our hobby and our lives still revolve around our dogs .But
life is never boring
